Moth Fires - 2017
This triptych work explores the dialogue of attraction and repulsion between the artist and a beautiful model.
In the center piece, there are a grid of photos of the vert attractive woman posing. She is joined by the artist who moves beside her, occasionally touching her. He is drawn to the gorgeous and rare creature like a moth to flame. The photo has been partially burned by fire. In the left photo, she is the bright flame. In the right, he is the dark moth. Short phrases that reveal things about the experiences of attraction are superimposed over both of them.
