UnNatural Trophy Wives -2017
A series of nude busts of extremely attractive women with animal horns, mounted like taxidermy, hang from the wall next to a photo of the rich older ‘sugar daddy’ that hunted her, sporting his shotgun and urban hunting garb. A taxonomy label below evokes the gender politics dialectic between wealthy male predators and their beautiful young female prey.
Sugar Bowl - 2017
This artwork uses actual internet photos and dating profile words from a prominent hook-up site superimposed on the famous Durer Adam and Eve engraving from 1504 and on embedded video screens to stir up comment on the Sugar Daddy and Sugar Baby relationship trend.
This triptych work explores the dialogue of attraction and repulsion between the artist and a beautiful model. Like a moth to flame.
Magnetic Sirens - 2016
These 8’ tall interactive sculptures are deeply personal explorations of sexual politics. Armored in over 50,000 magnetic bucky balls, the three life-size naked Sirens both draw and repel the viewer through songs and words, challenging perceptions of power and beauty.
Photographed from above and over-painted in vibrant colors, LA freeways transform from a girdlocked reality into graphical and poetic sculptures set against a mythical historic landscape, one that recalls Los Angeles' grand 19th-century Ranchos and the abundant pre-World War II farmers’ fields.
Shot at Burning Man in 2013, these extreme slo-motion video portraits are a modern version of the Renaissance wedding portrait diptych, in this case positioning two strangers as soulmates expressing their passion for one another.
